Did you know there are numerous innovative and impactful sustainability initiatives and projects coming from Acadiana’s environmental businesses, UL Lafayette, non-profits and government organizations?

Each organization is working in various sustainability topics centered around landscapes/ habitats/ watersheds, saving rare native species, clean energy, materials management, environmental governance, recreation, providing community access to food, clothing, feminine products, books, shelter, and advocates for a cleaner Acadiana.

2024 Fête de la Terre Recap

The 2024 Fête de la Terre celebration was the biggest earth day celebration ever held on campus!

2024's Fête de la Terre, UL Lafayette's Office of Sustainability annual celebration of the Earth, got even bigger with the addition of the first ever Louisiana Sustainability Summit and an earth day tree planting in addition to the usual week of activies leading up to the Fête de la Terre Expo! This year's Fête de la Terre was held from April 10-22nd.

Energy Week Recap

The Univeristy of Louisiana at Lafayette celebrated 2023's Energy Week October 23rd - 26th!

Energy week started with Show Watt You Know: Energy Trivia, on Monday. Participants included Students for Sustainability and Sustainable Design Club students. Students competed on their knowledge of clean energy and energy conservation. Sarah, the president of the Sustainable Design Club, was the winner and won a sustainability grab bag complete with a tote bag, wildflower seeds, reusable straws, and two T-Shirts!
