Objective 1: Develop and manage the campus as a paradigm of a sustainable University that recognizes the environmental, economic, and social impacts and opportunities of the built environment.

• Adopt Green Building Standards for allnew construction and significant renovation standards.
• Formalize and assess Green Building Operations and Maintenance Standards, including policies and guidelines for green cleaning, indoor air quality, and waste management.
• Formalize grounds maintenance plans and standards to advance Tree and Bee Campus efforts.
• Implement Cypress Lake Iris Master Plan, Tree Planting Master Plan, and Environmentally Preferable Landscaping Practices.

The Student Union is our University's first Leed-Certified Building on Campus. It is was ranked as a Leed Silver building in 2015 when the Student Union was built.
