Keep UL Lafayette Beautiful Awarded Beautification Grant - Press Release

Beautification Grant Press Release

Keep UL Lafayette Beautiful has been selected as a recipient of the 2022 Keep Louisiana Beautiful Community Beautification Grant.

The grant, in the amount of $5,000 will support our initiative to increase our native tree inventory, which will improve the natural aesthetic of the University of Louisiana at campus, provide shade to prominent campus pathways, reduce the urban heat island effect, reduce stormwater run-off, improve air quality, provide habitat for campus wildlife, and enhance our natural environment.

Native trees require little maintenance once they reach maturity because they have adapted to the Louisiana environment, thus providing more benefits to the natural environment and local wildlife.  Native Trees are conditioned to live a long life and provide many benefits to our campus community for many years to come.
