Bioswale #2 Installation
Tuesday, April 11, 2017 - 9:00am

With the help of UL Facility Management and volunteers, the University's second bioswale will be planted between Oliver Hall and Madison Hall. Bioswales are landscaping features designed to collect and filter stormwater runoff from roofs, driveways, or other impervious surfaces. Bioswales reduce rain runoff by allowing stormwater to soak into the ground. As opposed to rushing off into a storm sewer or a local waterway, the rainwater will collect in the new bioswale and be naturally filtered by the new native plants and soil.
