Triumphant Return of Fête de la Terre

The Office of Sustainability held one of the biggest Fête de la Terre Expo celebrations on April 14, 2022.   We had over 30 tables and around 500 students, staff, faculty, and community members come out to celebrate Earth Day to talk to local sustainable businesses, organizations, and non-profits. Free canvas bags, goodies, and free jambalaya were given out to attendees. The jambalaya was cooked on site and was served in biodegradable bowls, with biodegradable forks and napkins.

Every year Fête de la Terre is celebrated all week leading up to the Expo to celebrate the Earth! This year, Fête de la Terre week had free yoga at cypress lake, nature walks, pet a gator in the library, weigh the waste in dining, a coulee debris showing, bike scavenger hunt, electric vehicle meet up, and a solar farm tour in the days leading up to the Expo.
