Bayou Vermilion Paddle Trip

We are culminating Fête de la Terre Week with our second annual Bayou Vermilion Paddle trip on April 25, 2015. The tidal river known as the Bayou Vermilion is one of the region's greatest environmental, cultural, and recreational resources. Students, faculty, and staff are invited to take this guided tour and see for yourself why this natural beauty is worth our conservation and preservation efforts. Your tour starts with an overview of the Bayou Vermilion and basic paddling safety tips by staff from the Bayou Vermilion District. Your guide will then fit you with paddles and life jackets, as well as help you load your kayak or canoe into the water. The tour goes upriver to Bayou Tortue and then back to Vermilionville, lasting about two hours depending on the river conditions and paddler experience. Students, faculty, and staff can participate for free!

Meet at the Vermilionville Boat Launch at 8:00 am! You will be back on land in time to hit Festival International de Louisiane!
